What if the Outlook (2010, 2013) user has checked the “download Shared folders” to cache all Shared folders locally ?Are all calendars downloaded as the user opens Outlook ?When a new meeting request arrives in your outlook inbox, sniffer marks it in the outlook calendar as tentative appointment, so you will get a reminder for that request even if you forget to accept/reject the meeting request.Sometimes the time taken for different meeting requests will differ; this is because the sniffer runs only when MAPI is idle.Or is the download in the OST of Shared Calendars done on access basis only?1- If the user didn’t have cached mode enabled for Shared Folders, but already had 10 calendars configured on their profile, and then if later on we enable cached mode for Shared Folders, these 10 calendars will be “downloaded” onto the OST file when users access these only – not all at once.
Microsoft recommends using a custom view to hide cancelled meetings from users. You also must have proper permissions on the resource mailbox for this to work. This macro will remove cancelled meetings will remove both direct booking and autoaccepted meetings. Delete End If Next Set ol Appt Item = Nothing Set ol Res Calendar = Nothing End Sub Function Open MAPIFolder(sz Path) Dim app, ns, flr, sz Dir, i Set flr = Nothing Set app = Create Object("Outlook. Folders(sz Dir) End If Wend Set Open MAPIFolder = flr End Function Function Is Nothing(Obj) If Type Name(Obj) = "Nothing" Then Is Nothing = True Else Is Nothing = False End If End Function The Remove Canceled Appointments macro will search through a resource calendar and delete all canceled appointment items. Please note that this applies to meetings cancelled after setting Remove Old Meeting Messages to true.It will not remove items cancelled previously; these will need to be removed manually, either using the macro or a filtered view that displays only canceled meetings. This is what happens for me if I open a meeting request that has been sent to me - I want that to happen automatically. This means the Sniffer will not process when Outlook downloading emails from the server, where as it processes if you are composing and email. So if the Outlook is busy due some MAPI activity, which can be due to a third party add-on, the Sniffer may not trigger and you will not get the necessary output as desired. The personal calendar is nice but working as a team it would be nice to have a shared calendar so that we can place Time Off dates and project dates as well. Also see the New Relic connector, is there an Application Insights connector in the works as well?Is there a way for me to have meeting invites automatically added to my calendar as tentative, and if, how? What I'm looking for is that any meetings would be added to my calendar view even though no action would be made or implied regarding them.
